Nice is the fifth most populous city of France situated on the Cote d'Azur.
The most important things to visit are the marvelous beaches, the Old Town (Vieux Nice) which has a few baroque architectural pieces and the Garibaldi square. There is a cliff called Parc de Château which soars high above the city, and you can have a look over the whole of Nice.
The museums here are free of charge and famous for the galleries and exhibitions they hold. A few of these museums are the Musée Matisse, the Musée Chagall and the MAMAC, which is a modern art museum.
English tourists once came to Nice and they were missing a walking-avenue inside this beautiful city. The idea was born and later the Promenade des Anglais, the English Avenue has been built to serve every need of the tourists. Nice is one of the few cities in France which has a driveway dedicated to tourists called: Grande Corniche. The scenery along this road is beyond beautiful, and considered a must if anyone visits Nice.
So should you rent a car, it is almost compulsory to drive up this road. Moreover, travelling around inside the city of Nice it is also essential that you rent a car. Nice is quite a large city as mentioned before, and one can only get to walk around the historic or the new district but getting from one to the other might need some vehicle-help.
